Time out on Planning Reform Bill

Antisocial and unsustainable - and unaffordable? More and more Knesset Members are getting the point that Adam Teva V'Din has been making for the last two years. After our court case caused the cabinet to extend committee review period, the government is now taking time out because of opposition and disputes from within. Cabinet review will recommence April 1, and the special planning reform committee will continue working on the bill only on April 30, after the Passover recess.

High Court of Justice to government: What's the rush?

The outcome of the hearing in early March of IUED’s joint petition with SPNI protesting the limited period of 21 days for public responses to the proposed Planning & Building bill is that High Court of Justice 'recommended' that the government consider extending the period. Unfortunately, the Ministerial Committee for Legislation went ahead and approved for first reading the government bill.
