After a 11 year delay, work has begun on sewage facilities at Keseife, one month after the Beershea District Court order the local authority to do so.

Supreme Court: Protect children from pollution

Air pollution threats to 900 children at an elementary school in East Jerusalem have been curtailed thanks to legal action by IUED, ACRI and parents of the children at the school. A recent check confirmed that the source of pollution - a heavy metals manufacturing plant - is no longer operating at the site.

Court orders polluting factory closed

Aluminium manufacturing plant not suitable for business park zoned for 'clean commercial activity.' Despite zoning laws and ongoing proceedings before planning commissions, factory began operating last summer. The Nazareth Administrative Court has now ordered the factory closed within six months.

Asbestos clean up in Nahariya

Update on asbestos clean up in the Galilee: IUED lawsuit spurs government to appoint clean up authority. New legislation is also in on its way. IUED is monitoring progress and our court case is on hold, pending implementation of the clean up strategy.

Sewage overflowing

IUED is helping residents of Majd Al-Krum fight for access to modern sanitation services. A petition against the local authority is pending in the Nazareth District Court.

Court halts beach burials

The Haifa Administrative Court has ruled in favor of IUED and the Association for Environment and Life in Nahariya, decreeing that no more graves may be dug outside the cemetery’s boundaries.
