Clean Air Law (2008)

In 2008, the Knesset approved Israel’s first comprehensive Clean Air Law, a bill initiated by Adam Teva V’Din and later adopted as a government bill. The law sets goals for reducing air pollution and imposes restrictions on pollutant emissions from industry, power plants and transportation, and requires the implementation of a National Air Quality Strategy to reduce pollution.

"Clean air is a fundamental right. The responsibility to ensure that is on the shoulders of elected officials." – Thomas Carper
