In 2012, the Knesset approved the Electronic Waste Recycling Law, based on a bill originated and drafted by Adam Teva V’Din. The law applies to manufacturers and importers of electronic goods who are now obliged to accept refrigerators, televisions, etc. no longer in use and recycle or dispose of them according to specific environmental practices. The law set a target of 45% for recycling electronic waste, to be met by 2020.
